Oasis of the Seas

Picture update 30 September - 13 October 2014 

The world’s largest and most innovative cruise ship, “Oasis of the Seas”, is dry-docked at Keppel Verolme’s shipyard in Rotterdam for routine maintenance work.
Besides maintenance work, Keppel Verolme’s work scope on “Oasis of the Seas” includes painting of the ship’s hull and replacement of one of its engines.

On November 27th  the cruise vessel Norwegian Getaway visited the Keppel Verolme yard for a short stay in drydock no. 7.
She left on the 29th of November.

MSC Nikita

After her collision, the container vessel MSC Nikita suffered severe damage. A large breach on the portside caused the engine room to flood. Assisted by tugs and the floating sheerleg Matador 3, to support the stern of the vessel, she arrived in the second week of September at the Keppel Verolme yard for emergency repairs. The vessel was successfully drydocked in Keppel Verolme's drydock no 6. The yard removed the polluted water and oil waste in the vessel and repaired the damaged area by installing a prefabricated box-shaped section up to class requirements. After undocking, the vessel berthed alongside yards quay to finalise preparations for towage to her final destination.

Keppel Verolme quickly set to work on fixing the vessel. It renewed 44 tonnes of steel and applied a complete paint job, all within 16 days.

 

Saipem 7000

Saipem 7000 is one of the world’s largest crane vessels with lifting capabilities of up to 14,000 tonnes. The Saipem 7000 was successfully drydocked in Keppel Verolme’s mammoth dock for the first time in her lifespan. Keppel Verolme renewed the hull coating system and carried out maintenance works to the underwater equipment, such as the thrusters, overboard valves, quick ballasting system and the impressed current system.

On Sunday 15 January the landing platform dock Hr. Ms. Johan de Witt of The Royal Netherlands Navy arrived at the Keppel Verolme yard for dry-docking, repair and maintenance.

The DCV Balder was in the Keppel Verolme drydock for maintenance. On January the 15th, the crane vessel left the Keppel Verolme yard to the Caland Canal.

Saipem 7000

In November 2012 the semi-submersible crane vessel Saipem 7000 arrived at the Keppel Verolme yard for maintenance. This giant crane vessel was drydocked on 23 January 2013. The Saipem 7000 left the yard on 25 February 2013.
